"Appearances, documented" is a work showing three instances of documentary image production. This 3-channel installation attempts to construct situations of recorded seeing and being seen. Without establishing time and place or a possible connection between the actors whose appearances are documented on screen, you are left to your own devices to narrativize this otherwise rather “neutral” material. An observer can be an invasive force, absent or in the position of observing the self while the observed can be oblivious or actively involved.
